My name is Ashley and I am a Junior Psychology Major at Lincoln Memorial University. I chose LMU for many reasons, but first and foremost was the spectacular Psychology program that is offered here. While it is a challenging major, I believe the hard work is well worth the great education and real world experience that the program offers. The other main reason I chose LMU is the beautiful campus. I always knew I wanted to attend a smaller college, and LMU has the right balance of a small but dynamic community. I truly feel at home here.
This year is my first year working in the Tagge Center on campus, which provides free tutoring and homework help to students. I love to help others in whatever way I can. In addition to that, I am a member of the Kappa Pi Omega Sorority. I love spending time with my sisters and being involved in Campus Life. My college experience is a balance of studies and social life, with lots of psychology and board games and late-night laughs to fill my time. The great thing is, I have found that even if you don’t think you have any time, there is always something at LMU to spark your interest. Freshman year, I was cast as Ado Annie in the Railsplitter Playhouse production of Oklahoma! Even before pledging, this was my first experience interacting with the community, and I was welcomed with open arms.
Since then, I have had an active part in the acting community in this area.
Other things that I enjoy in my spare time are reading (I just read the Harry Potter series for the second time) and baking really delicious treats. If you ever need a cake, I’m your girl! But I always bake in twos, one for me and one for you !
LMU has given me a place to grow and figure out who I want to be. I know that my life is just beginning, and I am so happy to be in an area that is so supportive and friendly.
